California Date Administrative Committee
Administers Federal Marketing Order No. 987, established in 1955 regulating the handling of domestic Dates grown or packed in Riverside County, California. The committee is funded by mandatory assessments of the handlers and promotes California Dates in the United States through publicity of generic marketing, nutrition programs and product research.
California Date Commission
A corporate body established in 1996, organized under the provisions of Division 22, Chapter 19, beginning with Section 77701 of the California Food and Agriculture Code. The commission is funded by mandatory assessment of the handlers; providing funding for pesticide and food safety research.
