Indian Date Empanada

sheets Puff Pastry, defrosted
1 1/4 lb
ground Chicken or Turkey
30 each
Deglet Noor Dates, chopped
6 each
Scallions, chopped
3 cloves
roasted Garlic, minced
1 teaspoon
Curry Powder
1/4 teaspoon
ground Ginger
1/8 teaspoon
ground Cinnamon
To taste
Salt and Pepper

Eggs
1/2 cup
Flour
Preparation
Mix together the
ground meat, chopped dates, minced garlic,
chopped scallions, seasonings and 1 egg.
Retain the other 2 eggs for whipping with
small amount water for egg wash.
Roll out puff pastry
and cut into 3 inch rounds. Work the
flour into the surface of the pastry. Divide
the meat mixture into thirds and fill half
of each round with the mixture.
Brush the other half
with the egg wash. Fold pastry over and
crimp with a fork.
Bake in a 350-degree
oven for 20 minutes.
